SU 10005 represents a layer of loose, yellowish brown soil in the westernmost third of the trench. SU 10005 was underlying SU 10002, which covered the rest of the wall extension of SU 7007.
Before we began excavating SU 10005, we could already see a large stone at the surface at the western edge of the trench, but as we dug down, we found that the wall continued, running east for approximately 5 meters before turning a corner and running north-south into the scarp. The extent of this wall fit the extent of the yellowish soil we saw on the surface perfectly. SU 10005 was a very loose soil filled with many rocks and ceramics. The rocks likely came from the collapse of the wall, and indeed there were many loose rocks directly on top of the remains of the wall. We also found many plaster fragments, some of which were painted red or yellow, whereas others were plain white.
